Things to Remember

Ohm's Law

Ohm's law states that, in an electrical circuit, the current passing through a conductor between two points is directly proportional to the potential difference (i.e. voltage drop or voltage) across the two points, and inversely proportional to the resistance between them.

The mathematical equation that describes this relationship is:

A voltage source, V, drives an electric current, I , through resistor, R, the three quantities obeying Ohm's law: V = IR.

Current
Current is the flow (movement) of electric charge. The unit of electric current is the ampere (A), which is equal to a flow of one coulomb of charge per second.

Voltage
Voltage is the difference of electrical potential between two points of an electrical or electronic circuit, expressed in volts.

Resistance
The resistance of an object determines the amount of current through the object for a given potential difference across the object. The SI unit of electrical resistance is the ohm, symbol Ω.

Alternating Current
An alternating current (AC) is an electrical current whose magnitude and direction vary cyclically, as opposed to direct current, whose direction remains constant.

Direct Current
Direct current (DC or "continuous current") is the unidirectional flow of electric charge. Direct current may flow in a conductor such as a wire, but can also be through semiconductors, insulators, or even through a vacuum as in electron or ion beams. In direct current, the electric charges flow in the same direction, distinguishing it from alternating current (AC). A term formerly used for direct current was Galvanic current.

Parallel Circcuit

If two or more circuit components are connected like the rungs of a ladder it is said they are connected in parallel. A parallel circuit is a different path for current through each of its components. A parallel circuit provides the same voltage across all its components.

A Parallel circuit has certain characteristics :

1. A parallel circuit has two or more paths for current to flow through.

2. Voltage is the same across each component of the parallel circuit.

3. The sum of the currents through each path is equal to the total current that flows from the source.

4. You can find total resistance in a Parallel circuit with the following formula: 1/Rt = 1/R1 + 1/R2 + 1/R3 +... Rt = R (t)otal Note: The formula is not as difficult as it looks. But looks hard for me because i dont like physics and math.

5. If one of the parallel paths is broken, current will continue to flow in all the other paths.

Series Circuit

If two or more circuit components are connected end to end like a daisy chain, it is said they are connected in series. A series circuit is a single path for electric current through all of its components.

A series circuit has certain characteristics like:

1. The same current flows through each part of a series circuit.

mag c0mment kayo after viewing ha

2. The total resistance of a series circuit is equal to the sum of individual resistances.

yun ung formula for finding the total resistance

3. Voltage applied to a series circuit is equal to the sum of the individual voltage drops.

4. The voltage drop across a resistor in a series circuit is directly proportional to the size of the resistor.

5. If the circuit is broken at any point, no current will flow.

the proj. in physics...

it was fun, although our grades was not, well, we should have done it seriously. good thing we will repeat it this coming friday.

if you would like to watch the video of our presentation just ask me via ym. hehehe.

POSERS/POSEURS
Physics

I'd like to say something...

I love the things I love because I love them and not because MY FRIENDS love them. I don't love something because EVERYONE loves it. I don't love something just because it's popular or it makes me look good to everyone's eyes. Do you know who I think I am? No. You don't.

So if I come to love you it's because I do and not because my friends do.

GET IT?

So if I were you, I would express myself as I am and not as what my friends are. (oha, oha, english un!!! ang tagal kong pinag-isipan kung tama ba ung grammar). Anyway, you, whoever you are if you're like this, a poser (as what hope says), please change. Don't be a clown for Pete's sake! Stop hiding your true feelings! If your happy, stay happy. If your sad, be sad. If you don't like something, then don't be afraid to tell the whole world you don't. DON’T LOVE SOMETHING JUST BECAUSE IT’S POPULAR OR JUST BECAUSE IT MAKES YOU LOOK GOOD TO EVERYONE’S EYES. I think that's very stupid.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, I HATE POSERS.

In case your wondering what I mean by poser...

poser
noun
1. a person who habitually pretends to be something he is not [syn: poseur]
